AnimaWings, a 100% Romanian airline, announces the reception of a new Airbus A220-300 aircraft, the third of this type and the fifth operational in its fleet. By the end of 2027, the company aims to reach a fleet of 18 aircraft, thus consolidating the most valuable portfolio in Romania’s private aviation industry, valued at over 1 billion dollars.

The Airbus A220-300 is a state-of-the-art aircraft, internationally recognized for its reliability, efficiency, and comfort. The model chosen by AnimaWings is specially configured for both the local and international market, with 137 seats – including 12 in business class, offering significantly more space between seats compared to other similar aircraft on the market, and 125 in economy, arranged in a five-abreast configuration.

“For us, passengers are at the center of every decision. With the Airbus A220 aircraft, we bring extra comfort and safety, ensuring that holidays, city breaks, or business trips begin the moment boarding starts. This is a strategic investment not only for us as a company but also for Romania as a whole, being the most extensive investment project in aeronautical infrastructure in recent decades – a project that is now taking shape and following the plans we made several years ago. Our ambitious plan foresees that the AnimaWings fleet will reach a total of 18 aircraft by the end of 2027,” said Marius Pandel, President of AnimaWings.

Starting this autumn, the company will operate 12 new routes that strengthen its domestic flight network and connect Romania’s main airports (Otopeni, Cluj, Iași, Craiova, Timișoara, Suceava) with major European and international destinations such as Istanbul, Munich, Prague, Sofia, Tel Aviv, and Dubai.

Ambitious development plans will continue in 2026, with one of the highlights being the new Bucharest–Geneva route, the only direct air connection between the two cities, available starting March next year.

Fleet valued at over $1 billion and the fastest expansion of a Romanian airline

AnimaWings’ fifth aircraft is part of an order for 18 units to be delivered over the next two years. The next four aircraft will be received in the first half of next year, while the remaining ones will follow in 2027.

Through this record investment in modern aircraft and the expansion of its destination network, AnimaWings aims to provide a premium alternative for Romanian passengers, business travelers, and foreign tourists, with higher standards of comfort and service, while maintaining accessible fares. The offer includes cabin baggage (8kg plus 4kg), free seat selection, and free online and offline check-in.

“On a market dominated by low-cost carriers, we want to prove that solid aeronautical projects can also be built in Romania, with significant investments and a European vision. AnimaWings is the first private Romanian full-service airline, standing out through comfort and excellence. Our goal is to quickly become the number one choice for Romanian passengers and beyond, positioning Romania where it belongs on the European map, not only in terms of connectivity but also respect for passengers. In just one year since fully taking over the company, we have achieved the fastest expansion in the Romanian market, adding five aircraft to our fleet – three of them brand new, straight from the factory. This strong start gives us the confidence to continue on this path,” added Marius Pandel, President of AnimaWings.

AnimaWings passengers benefit from three service classes – Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy – designed to meet diverse travel needs. The airline’s fleet offers a high level of comfort and operational efficiency, while AnimaWings’ strategy focuses on transforming every flight into a complete, safe, and reliable experience that promotes mobility and provides access to relevant destinations under the best conditions.

The A220-300 aircraft stands out with extra-spacious economy seats and the first 12 rows offering an additional 15 cm of legroom for superior comfort throughout the flight. It also features the largest windows in its class, creating a bright and relaxing ambiance, wider aisles, and generous overhead bins. Onboard, passengers enjoy premium catering services with menus inspired by modern Romanian cuisine and an elite crew dedicated to ensuring safety and comfort for every traveler.

AnimaWings is a 100% Romanian airline, launched in 2020 and part of Memento Group, alongside the tour operator Christian Tour. With a team of professionals, the company offers passengers comfortable journeys, whether on scheduled or charter flights, implementing systems, procedures, and safety protocols at exceptional standards.

In continuous expansion, the airline will grow its fleet this year with two more Airbus A220-300 aircraft, followed by an additional four next year. The AnimaWings fleet expansion plan foresees a total of 18 aircraft by the end of 2027.
