AnimaWings, a 100% Romanian full-service airline, officially launches the direct Bucharest–Geneva route, connecting Romania with one of Europe’s most important international diplomatic, financial, and business centers.
The first scheduled flight on this route will be operated on March 30, 2026, with services available year-round.
Full-service experience and business-class cabin
The Bucharest–Geneva route is operated by AnimaWings with three weekly flights, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with an average flight time of approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes each way. The schedule has been designed to provide flexibility for both business travelers and leisure passengers, with convenient afternoon departure times.
Passengers benefit from a full-service onboard experience, with Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class travel options. All fares include free seat selection, an 8 kg cabin bag, a 4 kg personal item, and complimentary check-in, either online or at the airport. Flights are operated with modern Airbus A220-300 aircraft, configured with 137 seats (12 Business Class and 125 Economy), featuring a dedicated business cabin and recently introduced into the company’s fleet.
In addition, passengers can opt for hot catering, available either as an individual package or as an all-inclusive option (including drinks and snacks).
“Geneva is a strategic destination, both due to its role as an international hub for diplomatic and financial institutions, and thanks to the Romanian community in the French-speaking region of Switzerland, as well as the premium tourism segment. By launching this route, we are connecting Romania with one of the world’s most important centers for international organizations, including UN agencies, as well as for the financial sector and high-end tourism. We chose to reopen a route that is currently unserved, yet highly sought after by the passenger segments targeted in AnimaWings’ commercial strategy. Moreover, we aim to open Romania’s doors to an important segment of Swiss tourists, a market that has shown growing interest in Romanian destinations in recent years,” said Marius Pandel, CEO of AnimaWings.
“The launch of a direct connection to Romania and its capital, Bucharest, is an important step that strengthens ties between Central Europe and Geneva.
As the seat of the United Nations and more than 200 international organizations, Geneva relies on efficient air links that support diplomatic activity, institutional cooperation, and global mobility.
This new route will benefit not only the international community, but also the wider population of Western Switzerland and neighboring France.
It provides the Romanian diaspora, business travelers, and leisure passengers with a reliable year-round service, and also opens new opportunities for Romanian visitors eager to discover our region, including the Swiss and French Alps during the winter season,” said Jean-François De Saussure, CEO of Genève Aéroport.
AnimaWings currently operates regular flights to major European airports with consistent frequencies. In addition to established destinations such as Paris (CDG), Stockholm (Arlanda), and Istanbul (IST), in the coming months the Romanian airline will launch new direct flights from Bucharest to major European cities including London Gatwick (from March 22), Munich (from April 2), and Milan Malpensa (from May 11), as well as from Timișoara and Cluj to Athens (starting April 5).
