The 100% Romanian airline AnimaWings announces the launch of flights on the Bucharest – Munich route (round trip), starting November 5, 2025. The flights will be operated three times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and tickets can already be booked on the company’s website and through its partner travel agencies.
The flight duration is 2h10min, with fares starting from €26.99/one way. As with all other flights operated by the company, the ticket price includes for all passengers an 8kg cabin bag, a 4kg personal item (handbag/small backpack), free seat selection, and free check-in both online and at the airport.
“Munich is one of the most important business and mobility destinations in Central Europe, with huge potential both for the corporate segment and for passengers traveling for personal reasons. By introducing this route, we are consolidating our network of flights to key European hubs and offering Romanian travelers an efficient, fast, and comfortable connection to southern Germany and beyond. This is a natural step in our development strategy, which aims to expand Romania’s international connectivity with relevant destinations, operated at the highest quality standards,” said Marius Pandel, President of AnimaWings.
AnimaWings is launching this route for the winter season, as Munich is one of Europe’s most attractive tourist destinations, famous for its spectacular Christmas markets, authentic Bavarian atmosphere, and proximity to popular ski resorts in the Alps. Every year, the city attracts thousands of tourists seeking cultural city breaks, culinary tours, or winter getaways, making it an ideal choice for the cold season.
Bucharest – Munich, the 21st scheduled route operated by AnimaWings
The launch of the Bucharest – Munich route continues AnimaWings’ extensive network expansion plan announced earlier this year. Among the new destinations are Istanbul, with flights operated from five airports in Romania (Bucharest, Iași, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, and Craiova), as well as the European routes Bucharest – Prague and Bucharest – Sofia, alongside strengthened domestic connectivity with the launch of Bucharest – Suceava and Bucharest – Timișoara. These expansions reflect the company’s strategy to increase both regional and international accessibility for Romania, through direct flights operated with next-generation aircraft, at modern comfort standards.
Flights will be operated with Airbus A220 aircraft, state-of-the-art models known for their operational efficiency, enhanced comfort, and cutting-edge technology. These are brand-new aircraft, delivered starting in December 2024, and part of the 12-unit Airbus A220 order placed by AnimaWings to expand its fleet in the coming years. Another aircraft will be delivered this autumn, supporting the growth of the scheduled route network.
Passengers will be able to choose between three comfort classes: Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy, enjoying a high standard of onboard services and the efficiency provided by the new A220 aircraft. Regardless of the class chosen, every detail is designed to deliver a seamless travel experience—from the comfort of the seats and advanced aircraft technology to personalized services and dedicated cabin crews.
At AnimaWings, flying is meant to be more than just transportation—it is a pleasant, safe, and stress-free experience that inspires passengers to discover new destinations with confidence and enthusiasm.
